Videographer of Russian plane crash site has been killed

Andrei Mendierej, the amateur filmmaker who arrived at the crash site near Smolensk and recorded the survivors being shot by unknown assailants, has been assassinated.

“Author of the video seen by everyone by now has been stabbed near Kijow on 4.15 and transported in critical condition to the hospital in Kijow. On 4.16 three unidentified individuals unplugged him from life support system and stabbed him 3 more times. Andrij was prenounced dead that afternoon. Russian government claims it was a coincidence. ”

The plane that crashed near Smolensk Russia on April 10th virtually annihilated the Polish government. In addition to Poland’s President Lech Kaczynski, the Deputy Foreign Minister, head of the National Security Office, the national bank President, Deputy Parliament Speaker, the Army Chief of Staff, and heads of the air and naval forces all perished.

The Polish delegation were making the emotional trip to honor the Poles slain by the Soviet secret police at the infamous Katyn forest massacre. Their plane crashed just a short drive from the site. The murder of 22,000 Polish officers by the NKVD in 1940 is one of Poland’s greatest national traumas.
