PressTVPakistani authorities have demolished a three-story home in the northwestern city of Abbottabad where Osama bin Laden was killed by US forces last May.

The Al-Qaeda chief, according to US press reports, hid with his three wives and nine children in the compound for at least five years until he was shot dead.

Bulldozers razed to the ground the home on Monday after fears grew over the possibility that the site may turn into a shrine.

“The demolition has been completed, the three-storey building was razed to the ground,” a security official said on condition of anonymity.

The demolition comes two months before the first anniversary of the covert and unauthorized US Navy SEAL attack that the Pakistan army described as the “biggest humiliation.”
